Climate Week: five newly added events you can still join

Since Tuesday’s briefing, 25 listings have been published in the PIQUE Climate Week guide. Five public options are still accepting registrations, and a sixth has an active request-to-join form. The range is the useful part: community solar, zero-emission shipping, environmental art, and two family-friendly ways to get outside.

“New” means newly published in PIQUE, not necessarily newly announced by the organizer. Registration belongs to each organizer, so check the host page before you head out.

The Bright Spot: A Honnold Foundation Community Convening

Wednesday, September 23 · 9am–2pm · Chelsea

Honnold Foundation and Rivian bring together more than 20 community partners using solar to build local resilience. Space is limited; the host says breakfast and lunch are included.

Climate Action in Shipping: Progress toward shipping’s 2030 breakthrough

A report launch on scalable zero-emission shipping fuels, with progress across technology, finance, demand, policy, and civil society.

Environmental health and justice become installations, performances, films, and interactive experiences. Admission is free; RSVP is required.

Shirley Chisholm State Park Shore Cleanup & Hike

Saturday, September 26 · 11:45am–3pm · Brooklyn

A naturalist walk, hands-on shoreline cleanup, and community time with the Appalachian Mountain Club and New York State Parks. The event is free and open to ages five and up.

Climate Week for Families at the Bronx Zoo

Sunday, September 27 · 10am–12pm · Bronx

Climate and wildlife activities for children and adults with the Appalachian Mountain Club and Wildlife Conservation Society. Free registration includes limited zoo admission.

Joel Makower and Solitaire Townsend are recording an audience-led conversation about the reality of sustainability work. The request form is open, but the host must approve attendance.
