This is the September 14 edition of the PIQUE daily briefing. Figures and registration checks below are a dated snapshot; event availability can change.

94 event listings newly available in the past 24 hours. Plus 24 new session listings.

Climate Week NYC / UNGA · September 20–27 · Snapshot: September 14, 1:19pm ET. All times below are New York time.

The latest additions give you some specific decisions to make: which Tuesday breakfast to apply for, where to hear about AI’s electricity demand, and which sessions connect climate action with health, finance and public trust.

What’s emerging: AI’s power demand runs through several new listings, from communities hosting data centers to Australia’s grid and investment plans. The finance discussions focus on purchasing carbon removal, preparing projects for diligence, and getting deals closed.

Tuesday morning: two overlapping options

Making the Business Case: Sustainability as a Value Driver
Tue, Sept 22 · 8am–12:30pm · North Javits

ClimeCo’s programme includes sessions on communications at 9:15am, SBTi and insetting at 10:30am, and AI for sustainability at 11:30am. Check the access requirements below before adding these to your schedule.

Check Campus access first: this session needs host approval and a separate Nest Campus pass. At our September 14 check, Nest’s registration page said complimentary passes are sold out and lists general admission at $499. ClimeCo’s listing advertised free Campus access with sponsor code CLIMEGP; confirm whether that code still provides complimentary entry before committing. Check the host’s registration instructions.

CDR at Industrial Scale
Tue, Sept 22 · 8:30–11am · Request to join · approval required

Frontier, Steel Dynamics, Heidelberg Materials and Isometric bring the buyer, industrial and verification perspectives. Prioritize this breakfast if you work on carbon-removal purchasing or industrial decarbonization. It overlaps the communications and SBTi sessions above.

Community power & climate justice

Frontline Resource Institute Climate Justice Hub
Mon, Sept 21 · 10am–5:30pm · Fordham Lincoln Center Request to join · approval required

Four panels and a reception connect storytelling, community data, AI infrastructure and research. Start with the 2pm AI and data-centers panel if you work on siting or community engagement; look at the noon and 3:30pm panels for community-led research.

AI, energy & investment

Where AI Scales and the Grid Gets Cleaner: Australia’s Opportunity
Tue, Sept 22 · 1:30–5pm · American Australian Association, Midtown Registration details · approval required

Austrade and Fortescue connect renewable power, data-center development and investment. Consider it after the morning programmes if you work on energy or infrastructure investment. Confirm admission and leave time to cross town.

Clean-energy finance

Clean Energy Finance Forum
Tue, Sept 22 · starts 3pm · Hudson Yards

Buyer and seller panels focus on diligence and getting transactions to close. Choose this over the latter part of the Australia forum if deal execution is your priority. Free RSVP through the organizer.

Health & climate diplomacy

Climate Leadership & Health
Wed, Sept 23 · 3:30–5:30pm · Penn Club Request an invitation · admission requires confirmation

Former Maldivian ministers and Penn researchers connect climate diplomacy with health surveillance and resilient buildings. Consider it if your UNGA work spans health, adaptation or public policy; an Eventbrite registration alone does not confirm admission.

Media & communications

Climate Storytelling in the Age of Disinformation
Thu, Sept 24 · 3–4:30pm · Creative Climate Forum, Pier 57 Free registration · few tickets left at our last check

Tory Stephens of Grist and Amy Westervelt lead this workshop. The host prioritizes people doing climate work from the most impacted communities. If you have access to Tuesday’s ClimeCo programme, pair the two for journalistic and corporate perspectives on credibility.
